French Quarter Infrastructure Improvements Project (FQIIP)

Project Overview 

The City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works, Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans and project partners including Entergy Electric, Entergy Gas, Cox Communications and AT&T have completed Phase I of a multi-million dollar reconstruction project on Bourbon St. between Canal and St. Louis streets (100 - 400 blocks), which resulted in enhanced public safety, fewer water service outages, better drainage, a better sewer system, enhanced reliability and improved quality of life.  

The Phase II full reconstruction of Bourbon Street from St. Louis to Dumaine Street (500 - 800 blocks) began in September 2018. All businesses along this corridor remain open and accessible throughout construction. Click here to learn more about Phase 2.
